I was born and raised in Kitchener and attended Sheppard Public, Sunnyside Sr Public and Eastwood Collegiate. My post-secondary education in Journalism allowed me to be a Features Editor for the Kitchener Waterloo Record, where I worked for 26 years. I currently work in the non-profit sector as Director of Development for the YW Kitchener-Waterloo, serving women and children in our community.
I grew up in a modest home on Fairmount Road with my parents, four sisters and one brother. I have great memories of my childhood swimming in the neighbour’s pool during the summer, skating in our backyard rink, or sledding down Eby’s hill in winter. I have lived in Ward 4 for almost 30 years, where my late husband and I raised our son. My son attended Brigadoon and Doon Public School and Preston High School. Today, I am blessed not only with a wonderful son but a beautiful daughter-law and an adorable
grandson. Oh, and I can’t forget to mention Doug the Golden Doodle and Georgia-Peach the Poovanese!
